MOSCOW, May 30 (PRIME) -- The Kremlin sees Russia’s current macroeconomic situation as absolutely stable, presidential spokesman Dmitry Peskov said on Thursday.
“There is an unfavorable environment in the global economy. It involves not solely sanctions, but also trade wars, global economic turbulence. It, of course, has a negative impact on many states’ economies including our country. At the same time, (Russia’s) macroeconomic situation is absolutely stable,” he said.
The Kremlin is closely watching the situation of Russians’ decreasing income and is implementing a set of steps to improve it.
“These are megaprojects which will have not only long-term effect, but certain results that can be seen by the people already this year,” he said.
Earlier in May, the Federal State Statistics Service said that annual growth of real wages in Russia had slowed down to 1.6% in April from 2.3% in March.
Peskov also said that statistics are volatile and “can be adjusted the very next day.”
The Kremlin has an unbiased look at Russians’ economic conditions and considers fight with poverty to be a priority, Peskov also said.
